Steven Haaker

Who's Steve, and why does he care?

I’m taking on the 23-day push-up challenge to support mental health because this cause is personal to me.

I’ve been diagnosed with ADHD, and while it has shaped how I think and create, it has also impacted my life in many difficult ways, especially around mental health, addiction, and consistency. I see first-hand how many people are struggling, and how fast this space is growing without enough support to meet it.

Alongside this challenge, I’m currently developing a mental health and addiction wellness application aimed at helping people build healthier habits and feel less alone. This challenge is another way for me to contribute, raise awareness, and back organisations already doing vital work.

I’m completing 2,000 push-ups in 23 days to raise awareness and funds for mental health from 5–27 February. Any support means a lot. All proceeds go to the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand to help build a future where mental health is treasured, protected, and prioritised.

Dedicated to: To Myself! Cause I owe it to my body and my mind.

Supporting Mental Health Foundation

Funds raised will invested by the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand [The MHF] in three core areas of mahi:

  • Promoting everyday actions that lift mental wellbeing
  • Providing tools that support people through tough times
  • Advocating for a better mental health system and society

With your tautoko/support, we can build a fairer, more connected Aotearoa where everyone’s mental health is valued and protected.

Whāia te hauora hinengaro kia puāwai ai te hauora tangata - there is no health without mental health.
