About Our Challenge

This February, Taikan Kai Karate is entering three teams into The Push-Up Challenge, completing 2,000 push-ups between 5–27 February 2026 in support of mental health in Aotearoa New Zealand.

At Taikan Kai, we believe strength is built through community, compassion, and showing up for others. This challenge is one way we give back beyond the dojo.

You can help by donating.
All funds raised support the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand, working toward a future where mental health is prioritised for everyone.

Supporting Mental Health Foundation

Funds raised will invested by the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand [The MHF] in three core areas of mahi:

  • Promoting everyday actions that lift mental wellbeing
  • Providing tools that support people through tough times
  • Advocating for a better mental health system and society

With your tautoko/support, we can build a fairer, more connected Aotearoa where everyone’s mental health is valued and protected.

Whāia te hauora hinengaro kia puāwai ai te hauora tangata - there is no health without mental health.
