About My Challenge
challenge: completing 2,000 push-ups in 23 days to raise awareness and funds for mental health.
Mental health is something I’ve struggled with for most of my life, through my teenage years, and university. There were many times when anxiety, ADHD, and periods of depression made it incredibly hard to see anything positive or to believe things could get better.
What helped me get through was talking to someone. Having access to support at university gave me the space to work through my anxieties and reminded me that I didn’t have to do it alone. That support made a real difference, and it’s a big part of why I’m on the other side of things now.
I’m doing this challenge to raise awareness for mental health, to support others who may be struggling, and also for myself, as a reminder of how far I’ve come and why mental health support matters.
All proceeds go to the Mental Health Association of New Zealand, helping build a future where mental health is treasured, protected, and prioritised. If you’re able to support or share, it would mean a lot.
Supporting Mental Health Foundation
Funds raised will invested by the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand [The MHF] in three core areas of mahi:
- Promoting everyday actions that lift mental wellbeing
- Providing tools that support people through tough times
- Advocating for a better mental health system and society
With your tautoko/support, we can build a fairer, more connected Aotearoa where everyone’s mental health is valued and protected.
Whāia te hauora hinengaro kia puāwai ai te hauora tangata - there is no health without mental health.
