Erica Tuara

Slow, but always steady ❤️.

I'm completing 2,000 push-ups in 23 days to raise awareness and funds for mental health. Please support me as I push for better mental health from 5-27 February. All proceeds help the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand build a future where mental health is treasured, protected and prioritised.

- I am not the fittest & fastest person on the block 🫤😂 & i promise i can not do 2,000 push ups. But, i am making the changes I need for my health&body slowly & steady.

In August 2009, I lost my Brother; David to Suicide. At the time I was 8, mind was not developed, everything was not all there. This year will mark 17 years Dugz has been gone, and parts of me has always been longing to find the reasons “why” - i guess it’s always circled back to Mental Health. Since his passing Mental Health & Awareness has been a major part for me and his mental wellbeing - i would’ve loved to have been at the age to have understood him.

So, without breaking my heart any further.
Join me as I take on this challenge, of moving my body & talking through somethings i’ve learnt about myself, my brother & mental health since his passing ❤️.

Dedicated to: Dugz

Supporting Mental Health Foundation

Funds raised will invested by the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand [The MHF] in three core areas of mahi:

  • Promoting everyday actions that lift mental wellbeing
  • Providing tools that support people through tough times
  • Advocating for a better mental health system and society

With your tautoko/support, we can build a fairer, more connected Aotearoa where everyone’s mental health is valued and protected.

Whāia te hauora hinengaro kia puāwai ai te hauora tangata - there is no health without mental health.
