Hannah Lovatt

Why am I starting this crazy challenge?

When I had my first child I ended up in the depths of post partum depression, and found my mind telling myself awful things. It is scary what our brains can come up with when we aren't mentally 100%.

5 years on and I am still on a daily journey to keep my mental health on a positive track. With good days and bad days.

This challenge reminded me how much I used to love to be moving and the feeling of being fit. And I want to be open and korero more about mental health.

Additionally, as a small business owner I know first hand the challenge it is to prioritise yourself when you've got others to pay and its on you to "keep the lights on" each day. So I wanted to start a community for this to help other business owners find some space for themselves in each day. And accountability to do so for the next 23 days together.

Supporting Mental Health Foundation

Funds raised will invested by the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand [The MHF] in three core areas of mahi:

  • Promoting everyday actions that lift mental wellbeing
  • Providing tools that support people through tough times
  • Advocating for a better mental health system and society

With your tautoko/support, we can build a fairer, more connected Aotearoa where everyone’s mental health is valued and protected.

Whāia te hauora hinengaro kia puāwai ai te hauora tangata - there is no health without mental health.
