About My Challenge

I'm completing 2,000 push-ups in 23 days to raise awareness and funds for mental health. Please support me as I push for better mental health from 5-27 February. All proceeds help the Mental Health Association of New Zealand build a future where mental health is treasured and protected.

My goals for participating towards fundraising and raising awareness on the importance of taking care of mental health is due to the lack of mental health support or the awareness of the importance of looking after personal mental health I had growing up. Often times resilience was the only choice I had and in doing so I witnessed first hand the impact it had on me and those around me growing up.

Despite my tumultuous upbringing, I want to show every man, woman and child that it is okay to open up, cherish, be gentle and kind to yourself, to those around,  embrace this side of humanity that is unique to each individual and yet more often gets overlooked/underlooked, that it is okay to look out for your mental health and support each other on this journey that we call life.

Supporting Mental Health Foundation

Funds raised will invested by the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand [The MHF] in three core areas of mahi:

  • Promoting everyday actions that lift mental wellbeing
  • Providing tools that support people through tough times
  • Advocating for a better mental health system and society

With your tautoko/support, we can build a fairer, more connected Aotearoa where everyone’s mental health is valued and protected.

Whāia te hauora hinengaro kia puāwai ai te hauora tangata - there is no health without mental health.
