About My Challenge

I’m taking on The Push-Up Challenge by doing squats, as a way to strengthen my body while caring for my mind and wairua. From 5–27 February, I’m working toward 2,000 reps, not just for fitness, but to support better mental health for our people and communities.

Wellbeing is about balance your tinana, hinengaro, wairua and whānau are all connected. This challenge is my way of honouring that whakaaro: moving my body with intention, creating space for kōrero around mental health, and showing up not just for myself, but for those around me. Every squat is a reminder that wellbeing isn’t a solo journey.

Supporting Mental Health Foundation

Funds raised will invested by the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand [The MHF] in three core areas of mahi:

  • Promoting everyday actions that lift mental wellbeing
  • Providing tools that support people through tough times
  • Advocating for a better mental health system and society

With your tautoko/support, we can build a fairer, more connected Aotearoa where everyone’s mental health is valued and protected.

Whāia te hauora hinengaro kia puāwai ai te hauora tangata - there is no health without mental health.
