Who We Are

We’re a team from the Hawkins Tauranga Courthouse Project taking on the Push‑Up Challenge together. As a site, we’re committed to raising awareness for mental health and supporting those across the construction industry and wider Aotearoa who are affected by mental illness.

Construction is tough work, physically, mentally, and emotionally, which is why we believe in looking out for one another, speaking up, and staying connected.

Our Why

Mental illness affects thousands of New Zealanders every year, and our industry continues to face some of the highest rates of stress and suicide. By taking part in this challenge, we’re choosing to:

• Raise awareness and spark conversation
• Support the vital work of MATES in Construction
• Promote a healthier, more open site culture
• Challenge ourselves physically and mentally
• Back the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand, who help build a future where mental health is valued and protected

Our Individual Commitment

As part of the challenge, we will complete 2,000 push‑ups in 23 days to raise awareness and funds for mental health. From 5–27 February, we will be pushing ourselves to help push for better mental health across Aotearoa.

All proceeds go directly to the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand, supporting their work to build a future where mental health is treasured, protected, and prioritised.
