About My Challenge

A year ago on the 19th FEB 2025 I received a phone call that changed my life forever. One of my closest friends, Te Rina Naden, had taken her own life. It absolutely rocked me to my core, and one year later continues to be a loss I battle with every day. She was someone that I'd known my entire adult life, that I went to in my darkest hours, and someone I still hold near and dear to my heart.

And so I'm completing 2,000 push-ups in 23 days to raise awareness and funds for mental health, in the hopes that people can access help when they are in their darkest hours, and receive the support when they need it most.

Please support me as I push for better mental health from 5-27 February. All proceeds help the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand build a future where mental health is treasured, protected and prioritised.

Dedicated to: Te Rina Naden

Supporting Mental Health Foundation

Funds raised will invested by the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand [The MHF] in three core areas of mahi:

  • Promoting everyday actions that lift mental wellbeing
  • Providing tools that support people through tough times
  • Advocating for a better mental health system and society

With your tautoko/support, we can build a fairer, more connected Aotearoa where everyone’s mental health is valued and protected.

Whāia te hauora hinengaro kia puāwai ai te hauora tangata - there is no health without mental health.
