Yazmin Te Amohanga

About My Challenge

I'm completing 2,000 push-ups in 23 days to raise awareness and funds for mental health. Why? Because we are all mental in our own beautiful way and all go through shit in our lives, this impacts everyone differently, life experiences can creep up on anyone out of nowhere, from my experience in the past 6 months it was mental health workers that i felt safe reaching out to without feeling guilt and shame from my family and friends, when your in a dark place for a long period of time, you eventually feel like a burden constantly reaching out to your loved ones when it's messy.. so it was the call centers that really helped me personally when things were bad for me, I can confidently say if not for them I would not of reached out to anyone when I was going through intense suicidal ideation. So, please support me as I push for better mental health from 5-27 February. All proceeds help the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand build a future where mental health is treasured, protected and prioritised.

Supporting Mental Health Foundation

Funds raised will invested by the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand [The MHF] in three core areas of mahi:

  • Promoting everyday actions that lift mental wellbeing
  • Providing tools that support people through tough times
  • Advocating for a better mental health system and society

With your tautoko/support, we can build a fairer, more connected Aotearoa where everyone’s mental health is valued and protected.

Whāia te hauora hinengaro kia puāwai ai te hauora tangata - there is no health without mental health.
