About My Challenge
Mental health is a fundamental part of all of our lives but often it can be overlooked. I'm challenging myself this February to raise awareness for mental health and increase mental health support.
Having helped create a more culturally appropriate version of the Hato Hone St John mental health first aid training programme for ethnic communities through a focus group, I could see how mental health still carries a huge stigma to many people especially in ethnic communities.
Everyone struggles at times and it's so important people feel empowered to reach out to someone who can help.
Kia kaha!
Supporting Mental Health Foundation
Funds raised will invested by the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand [The MHF] in three core areas of mahi:
- Promoting everyday actions that lift mental wellbeing
- Providing tools that support people through tough times
- Advocating for a better mental health system and society
With your tautoko/support, we can build a fairer, more connected Aotearoa where everyone’s mental health is valued and protected.
Whāia te hauora hinengaro kia puāwai ai te hauora tangata - there is no health without mental health.
