Emma Lloyd

Why would I want to do lots of push-ups....?

Everyone has a brain, and everyone's brain occasionally throws a tantrum. This is how I see poor mental health. It is the lead up to this and during the tantrum where we need to provide compassionate support and remind people they're not alone.

People are important, and this challenge is making sure I think about what more could I be doing to be a better support or advocate for positive mental health every time I do a push-up or think about my sore muscles.

This is a teeny tiny thing I can do to raise awareness (and maybe some of hard earned $$) to get people talking about mental health openly. Brains are important, good mental health is important, and all people are important!

Supporting Mental Health Foundation

Funds raised will invested by the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand [The MHF] in three core areas of mahi:

  • Promoting everyday actions that lift mental wellbeing
  • Providing tools that support people through tough times
  • Advocating for a better mental health system and society

With your tautoko/support, we can build a fairer, more connected Aotearoa where everyone’s mental health is valued and protected.

Whāia te hauora hinengaro kia puāwai ai te hauora tangata - there is no health without mental health.
