Do not fight the battle alone! Reach out for help 💜

This is a struggle that has deeply affected me, and in one way or another, it’s a journey most people face — the battle with our own minds. The real question is: how do we deal with it?

From a male perspective, many of us hold everything in until it’s too late. But this isn’t just a men’s issue. Women also carry their own battles, and everyone deserves the space and safety to speak, to reach out, and to be heard.

Too often we hear the words, “We didn’t know.”

That’s because many of us walk through life wearing a mask — smiling, acting like everything is ok — while behind closed doors, in the silence, our thoughts grow heavier. Those unseen struggles have already cost too many of our friends and whānau their lives.

This is why Im jumping on board this movement. New Zealand needs better mental health support — more funding, more programmes, more facilities, and better access for everyone. No one should have to face these battles alone.

I’m taking on a challenge of completing 2,000 push-ups in 23 days to raise awareness and funds for mental health.

From 5–27 February, I’ll be pushing myself not just physically, but for a cause that truly matters. All proceeds will support the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand, helping to build a future where mental health is treasured, protected, and prioritised.

Your support — whether through a donation, a share, or words of encouragement — means more than you know. Together, we can make a difference.

Supporting Mental Health Foundation

Funds raised will invested by the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand [The MHF] in three core areas of mahi:

  • Promoting everyday actions that lift mental wellbeing
  • Providing tools that support people through tough times
  • Advocating for a better mental health system and society

With your tautoko/support, we can build a fairer, more connected Aotearoa where everyone’s mental health is valued and protected.

Whāia te hauora hinengaro kia puāwai ai te hauora tangata - there is no health without mental health.
